Privacy Policy
What data the extension stores
YouTube Angel stores exactly one thing: the list of YouTube channels you have added to your whitelist.
This data is saved using the browser's built-in
chrome.storage.sync
API, which means it lives in your Chrome profile and can sync across devices you are signed into with
the same Google account — entirely within Google's infrastructure and under your control.
What data is NOT collected
- No personal information (name, email, account details)
- No browsing history or watch history
- No analytics or usage statistics
- No crash reports or telemetry
- No advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
- No cookies set by this extension
Network requests
YouTube Angel makes zero network requests of its own. The extension contains no server, no backend, and no external API calls. It operates entirely within your browser. All processing happens locally, on your device.
Third parties
YouTube Angel does not share any data with third parties because it does not collect any. The extension has no relationship with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.
Google Chrome Sync
If you are signed into Chrome, your whitelist data may be synced to Google's servers as part of Chrome's standard profile sync feature. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not ours. You can disable Chrome Sync entirely in Chrome's settings if you prefer to keep the whitelist local only.
How to delete your data
To remove all data stored by YouTube Angel, uninstall the extension from Chrome. You can also clear only the extension's storage by going to chrome://extensions, clicking Details next to YouTube Angel, and selecting Clear data.
Open source
YouTube Angel is fully open source. You can inspect every line of code in the GitHub repository to verify these claims for yourself.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Given the nature of the extension — no data collection by design — significant changes are unlikely.
